new car holdback
Do you think the stereotype of car salesmen as liars is a myth or at least a thing of the past?
After all, consumers can see the invoice price online. We can learn about the discounts, incentives and dealer holdback on the Internet. It is the information age by changing the automotive sales? Or was the whole stereotype of only a myth based on consumers are at a disadvantage in the information? By the way … I was pleasantly surprised with some of my recent experiences with car dealers.
People like Vis are locked into a perception, and nothing will change that. I've been in car sales for nearly 15 years. I've seen almost change everything. Especially for the better for us all. The consumers have more access and better information has created a different market than it was in the "old days". As you said, consumers can get a better education now, and hopefully make better decisions. Online banking has allowed people to request and obtain the best financing possible. So – when it comes to us all sellers automakers are shady characters – has changed? I know PEOLPE as the first poster would like everyone stood around in capes and hats, turning our respective handlebar mustache. The perception is hard to change, and some never change. I work very hard to make sure all my clients have the best experience and get the best deal for us all. It has to make sense of both sides of the table before boarding a. I learned long ago the difference between a sales professional, and type Vis person referred. A professional – like me – to work hard for each client, and make sure you leave happy. That customer will send me his.her friends and family, and purchased me. I stay at a dealership for years – not much hop to the other to burn bridges every 6 months. But another problem is that buyers do not take the responsibility and blame everything on that vendor coward! They come to me, face down in a car, buried, not in cash, and want a new car. I can explain all day that this is a harsh, and not in their best interest. They do anyway, so I work for a week to get a bank to take this mass over time. Finally, we have a lender; the deal is done. 6 months later, I'm the biggest jerk on earth because they have $ 10k more than the car is worth. People have to make smart financial decisions on their own. complain that we sell a car you asked to buy, is like complaining that McDonald's sold hamburgers all. We are – generally – work hard, good people. We have work to do, to support families and bills to pay too. I think I can do all this without being the villain, but I know that some always see it that way. That's life – everyone cannot change, one person at a time.
